Born into a musical family, Karl Simko was naturally drawn to make music. Picking the cello as his instrument, he nurtured a passion for baroque music, to which he will always have an affection.

With his quartet "4 Times Baroque" Karl performed in numerous European festivals, such as the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Thüringer Bachwochen, the Mozartfest Würzburg, the Händel-Festspiele Göttingen, the Opus Amadeus Oda Müziği Festivali in Istanbul and others, and was part of the European program "Eeemerging". In 2018 the quartet´s second album „Caught in Italian Virtuosity“ was awarded the OPUS KLASSIK prize in the category „Nachwuchskünstler des Jahres“.

While performing as a baroque cellist, Karl attended classical cello studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold with Prof. Xenia Jankovic, the Liszt-Ferenc-Academy in Budapest with Prof. Laszlo Mezo and the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt with Peter Wolf.

At the same time he had contact with the pop music world as a member of the crossover band „TwoPlusFour“ under Sony Classical. He collaborates regularly with the Modern String Quintet and Florian Christl, emerging artist from Munich (Germany).

His career has brought him to perform all around the world, in Europe, Asia, and South-America.

Over the years he participated in shows on the German TV like ZDF Morgenmagazin and ARTE Stars von Morgen, and held live radio concerts on SWR, HR2 and Deutschlandfunk.

Exploring various genres, Karl found a constant fascination for the process of video making in the musical context. This fascination brought him to finally approach video making and to found MuDi_productions, to promote artists from different Musical Dimensions.
